The Old Debate Still Lingers
Posted on: July 26, 2008 8:13 pm
We have heard it discussed over and over and it still seems to be a problem for most. I say most because "most" are affected and only a select "few" are immune. The age old question regards the hot topic of a salary cap in MLB. We have seen how it helps other leagues i.e. the NFL. Don't you think that it would be a HUGE help for MLB as a WHOLE? Why can't every team be a "possible" playoff team at the beginning of the season. In the NFL, many times you can flip a coin as to who will break away from the rest of the pack and emerge as a playoff team. Why can't we have that in MLB and see all the small market teams benefit. I can't figure out why we have to suffer with the same teams every year (Boston, New York, Etc etc...) as the front runners to win it all. Then we see some that are so close and not have the finances to get over the top. The BIG BROTHER just forks out the cash and picks up whatever they need. (New York: NADY and company) Come on MLB. Let's spead the wealth.
