VOD 07/20/12: There Is Nothing He Cannot Do.

Verse:

Jeremiah 32:17
Ah Lord GOD! behold, thou hast made the heaven and the earth by thy great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for thee: (KJV)

Thought:

In the immense expanse of our universe, God knows each and every one of us personally. Such knowledge is too wonderful to be true, and yet it is. God has shown us His love when He had Jesus come to remind us that He not only knows us, but that  He loves us and He cares for us. He had His only begotten Son pay the ultimate sacrifice for our sins. With this knowledge in hand, is there any way that we could think that there is anything He can not accomplish if only we ask from our hearts?

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit show us the power of Your love in all that You do for Your children. Thank You for caring for us even though we are such a small part of Your great work in the universe. Your love is beyond our comprehension, and yet it thrills us to know that in Your grace, one day we will see You face-to-face.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to one and all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours for a safe and wonder-filled day.

May God Bless,
Michael

VOD 07/19/12: Take Care of His ‘Church’.

Verse:

Psalms 138:2
I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy loving kindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. (KJV)

Thought:

For Christians, God's temple is one of two related things: either the Christian's body (1 Cor. 6:19-20) or the group of people who make up His church (1 Cor. 3:16). Because of the flaws in many of the people in our churches, a lot of other people are hypercritical of them. They see many of the so-called Christians saying one thing and acting differently. But God's church is precious to Him and it should be to all of us. Anyone who destroys His church through attrition will be dealt with harshly.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit strengthen our commitment to follow Your laws and do Your will. We praise You for Your steadfast love and faithfulness revealed in the preservation of Your church throughout history. We promise to cherish the church and do all we can to help it grow and mature to be more as You wish for it to be.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to one and all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours for a safe and wonder-filled day.

VOD 07/18/12: Teamwork Gets Things Done.

Verse:

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up. (KJV)

Thought:

Some projects/businesses simply can not be handled by just one person. They require several people working in conjunction with each other to attain the same goal. If those people work at odds with each other, there will be personal conflict and the job won’t get done. It’s the old ‘too many Chiefs and not enough Indians’ syndrome at work. Yes, there needs to be one person to supervise and make the final decisions, but it takes cooperative input from all involved to see it through to completion.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit show us how to either accept or exert leadership on a project and work in harmony for the better good of all.  Let each one of us shoulder our own responsibilities and work with diligence and purpose. May we always be ready to lend a helping hand if additional assistance is needed by others.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 07/17/12: There Are Many Facets…

Verse:

Job 11:6
And that he would shew thee the secrets of wisdom, that they are double to that which is! Know therefore that God exacteth of thee less than thine iniquity deserveth. (KJV)

Thought:

…to every argument or opinion in the search for knowledge. God knows that this world is filled with misinformation and outright deceit. Satan, who as Lucifer was known as the ‘Angel of Light’, will use half-truths and what is pleasing to mortal man to confuse and deceive. God looks to the heart to see what a person’s intentions are and judges that person accordingly. As long as you are sincerely seeking Him and the knowledge that He wishes to impart to you, He will supply all the answers you need, as you need them.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit teach how to separate the truth from false teachings so prevalent today. Be with us today as we seek answers to our many questions. Make the answers available to us and open our eyes and minds to recognize the knowledge You place before us. Let us be humble enough to admit our mistakes and accept correction.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 07/16/12: We Are All Of One Brotherhood.

Verse:

Malachi 2:10
Have we not all one father? hath not one God created us? why do we deal treacherously every man against his brother, by profaning the covenant of our fathers? (KJV)

Thought:

‘We’re all in this together’.  It has never been truer than in today’s time of world troubles. So what if we have differences of opinion on certain matters. Everybody does at one time or another. This is to be expected. Whatever happened to the mature ideal of having a rational discussion and exchange of ideas? That’s how problems are solved and new ideas are created. More than ever mankind needs to work together for the common good of all. Never forget these words, ’United We Stand; Divided We Fall!’

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit teach us how to be more patient and understanding when listening to others’ point of view. Let our minds be open to new ideas as long as they are not contrary to Your Word and Your will. Show us how to present our ideas and thoughts in a cordial, constructive manner. May we show others the meaning of ‘Brotherhood’.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 07/15/12: Don’t Wear Out Your Welcome.

Verse:

Proverbs 25:17
Withdraw thy foot from thy neighbour's house; lest he be weary of thee, and so hate thee. (KJV)

Thought:

When someone invites you into their home, do you not enter with the unspoken understanding that you are to abide by the house rules? Do you accept their hospitality with the intention of insulting them and their other guests or causing strife in the household? Courtesy, civility, and mutual respect should be the order of the day when visiting. You should also not overstay your welcome, thereby avoiding placing your host in the uncomfortable position of having to suggest it’s time to go home.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit teach us how to behave when invited into someone else’s home. Have us be respectful of others while there and to not overstay our welcome. Do not allow us to act in such a way as to bring into question our conduct. When we depart, may we do so with grace and with good wishes for a speedy reunion.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 07/14/12: Parents…Influence Your Children.

Verse:

Proverbs 20:7
The just man walketh in his integrity: his children are blessed after him. (KJV)

Thought:

Saying one thing while doing another only teaches a child deceit and hypocrisy. Children watch their parents’ every move and try to emulate them in the way they act, talk, and interact with other people. Be aware that you are setting an example for them to follow in their later years. If you want your children to grow up to be disciplined and righteous, then show them by example of how God-fearing adults should conduct themselves in all facets of their lives. It’s the only ‘adult’ thing to do.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit abide in us and guide us in our actions so that we may show our children how they should live their lives in order to have a full life that is pleasing to you. Let them be examples to others of the teachings of Your Word and let us all be an influence on how to lead a righteous, Christian, God-fearing life.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 07/12/12: Know Your Heart...He Does.

Verse:

Jeremiah 17:10

I the LORD search the heart, I try the reins, even to give every man according to his ways, and according to the fruit of his doings.
(KJV)

Thought:

Jesus told us that what is in our heart ultimately works its way out into our activities. God wants us to know that He knows our heart. We want to stress the importance of what goes into our hearts because it really does have an influence on what comes out. Invite the LORD into all you do. Ask Him to remove those things that are not worthy of your time and interest or that may have a negative impact on your life. Keep feeding your heart good things and life will be more positive and rewarding.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit show us how to filter out the bad before it enters our heart. Help us guard our heart and be wise enough not to place things into it that would rob it of its devotion to You. Please search us and help us remove anything that would interfere with our worship of You and hurt our influence with others.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ...Amen.
