VOD 05/21/12: Be Content With Your Life.

Verse:

1 Timothy 6:6-7
But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. (KJV)

Thought:

“I didn’t ask to be born!” Maybe you didn’t, but then again, maybe you did. Jeremiah 1:5 speaks of how God knew us even before we were in the womb. Just as we will live after our death here, we had a pre-existence. The point is, this world owes us nothing. Life is a gift, not a right. Use the time here to grow spiritually because, as to material gain, you definitely can’t take it with you. Make the most of your life here on Earth by being content with your status until you can improve it positively.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit guide us in our quest to become more approved in Your sight. Thank You for another opportunity for us to gain more knowledge of Your word and Your will. Let us be content with our station in life, always seeking to improve ourselves but to do so with humility and righteously in Your name’s sake.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

Good morning to one and all. My thoughts and prayers are with you and yours for a safe and wonder-filled day.

May God Bless,

VOD 05/20/12: Success Hinges On Many Things.

Verse:

Luke 8:15
But that on the good ground are they, which in an honest and good heart, having heard the word, keep it, and bring forth fruit with patience. (KJV)

Thought:

Honesty. Compassion. Perseverance. Patience. These are the qualities that will lead to success. In order to succeed, you must start from scratch and keep on scratching until you have achieved your goal, but do it with integrity. If you ever think any job is beneath you, you are doomed to failure. A person has to be willing to do a job that another may find distasteful in order to become successful. Of course, no job is complete without giving credit to the One who made you the person that you are.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit fill us with the resolve and integrity to finish any tasks we are assigned. Humble us to seek the wisdom of those more learned and let us not forget to give thanks for all You have done for us to make us the people we are. May we forsake the way of the sluggard in order to soar like the eagle.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 05/19/12: We Must Have Faith In Him.

Verse:

Romans 1:16-17
For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. (KJV)

Thought:

Faith. Faith is the belief that God is real, God will do what is right, and God will do what is good. Faith is believing that the One who made it all has not left it all. Faith is knowing that He still sends light into the darkness of our lives. Faith is a choice we make to let Him into our lives. God is always near and available but His help is only given to those that invite Him to live within them. He only comes to where He has been invited and only stays where there is faith in His Word and His promises.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit help us to obtain the faith we need in Your Word and Your promises. We come to You with open arms and ask that You help us exhibit our commitment to You in everything we do and say. We ask for Your help in our times of need and submit ourselves to Your gracious authority and instruction.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 05/18/12: No Problem Is Too Big For Him.

Verse:

1 Samuel 17:37
David said moreover, The LORD that delivered me out of the paw of the lion, and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said unto David, Go, and the LORD be with thee. (KJV)

Thought:

Each day we are presented with a variety of problems, both great and small. When you are faced with a Goliath-sized problem, how do you react to it? Do you say to yourself ‘He’s too big to hit’, or do you respond like David did and say ‘He’s too big to miss’? God wants you to know that He is there for you no matter what size the problem. All you have to do is place your faith and trust in Him. Do so, and He will lend His strength and comfort to weather any problem you may encounter.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba  Lord, have Your Holy Spirit fill us with the comfort of knowing that You are there to help see us through any problems which may arise. Show us the way so that we may resolve our problems in a manner which reflects our trust in You. Even though we may be weak, with Your strength we can conquer anything life throws at us.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 05/17/12: A True Friend Will Forgive.

Verse:

Proverbs 6:3
Do this now, my son, and deliver thyself, when thou art come into the hand of thy friend; go, humble thyself, and make sure thy friend. (KJV)

Thought:

The pride goeth before the fall. For some, it is hard to admit when they are wrong. It is even harder to admit when the wrong is done to a friend. We know it is not intentional, at least in most cases, but the embarrassment can be too much to bear. The best thing that can be done is to go to the person, humble oneself before them, apologize, and ask them to forgive you for your transgression. A true and loyal friend will understand, forgive, and never broach the subject again. That’s what Jesus does.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit give us the courage to admit when we are wrong. We know that we are not perfect and that we make mistakes. Please forgive us. When others have been slighted by our errors, give us the strength and maturity to go to them, admit to them our wrong, and ask for their understanding and forgiveness.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 05/16/12: Show Concern For Everyone.

Verse:

Philippians 2:4
Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others. (KJV)

Thought:

No, this is not a contradiction of the commandment to not covet another’s possessions. The ‘things’ referenced here means ‘welfare’. Be not only concerned with your own welfare but with the welfare of others as well. One of the best ways a person can forget about their own problems is to help other people solve theirs. In so doing, our own problems seem to be not as great in comparison and we receive the joy that comes from helping. Even facing crucifixion, Jesus cared more for us than himself.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit open our hearts to other people’s plights. Let us not be so consumed with our own problems that we overlook the needs of others. Give us the compassion to help others in their time of need and the strength to cope with our problems. May we show the concern for others that Jesus showed for us.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 05/12/12: Can People Trust You?

Verse:

Proverbs 20:6
Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find? (KJV)

Thought:

Have you ever known anyone that you thought was a friend, only to have them turn their back on you in your time of need? Maybe they found another ‘friend’ who could offer them more profit. Friendship is a privilege that one has to earned by being there in good times as well as the bad. Loyalty is a precious commodity that is far too lacking in many people. The true test of a person’s character is how faithful they are in times of need. Are you the type person that can be depended on?

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, may Your Holy Spirit show us the way to being trustworthy and dependable. As we walk through this life with others, let us always be there for them in times of trouble. Have us be of good, loyal character, someone that they know they can depend on. Have us reflect the faithful character of Your Son, our Lord Jesus.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.

VOD 05/11/12: Be Patient And Be Strong.

Verse:

Galatians 6:9
And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. (KJV)

Thought:

Failure to succeed at what some people attempt can be attributed more to a lack of determination than to a lack of talent. At the first sign of trouble, or a problem they can’t immediately rectify, they grow disheartened and give up. These are the ones that give in to temptation, because that is usually the easy way out. The same applies when it comes to obeying God’s laws and commandments or to not follow God’s Word. Our Father wishes for us to stay strong in our faith and continue to do well.

Prayer:

Our Heavenly Father,
Thank You for this day and all of Your blessings in our lives. Abba Lord, have Your Holy Spirit give us the strength and courage to not grow weary in our pursuit of living as You would have Your children to live. Receive our supplications for assistance as we try to handle the problems that come our way as we strive to walk in the way of our Lord, Jesus by following Your laws and Your will.
We lift our prayers up to You in the Name of Your Son, Jesus the Christ…Amen.
