I dont think anyone would expect you and/or beach to say anything different. Sean Spence was so good he wasnt even on our board and I know you guys put A LOT of time and effert into it. Spence doesnt have the frame to bulkup so he will be playing at this weight or lighter or risk speed which, like Timmons, is his only strong point. I said this on another thread that Timmons needs to slim back down and only concentrate on ILB. I can see Rice and now Richardson running right up the middle and over both these guys.No such thing. Who the hell has a "nickle LB"? You take one off the field, you don't add one. You think they're taking Timmons off the field?I guess he was saying Spence would be used only on passing downs to cover a TE. Instead of using an extra DB they would use him.
and dont sleep on the kid from BYU as a possible at the NT.He was one of the players the Steelers had in for a visit. I would take a chance on him if Ta' mau and Chapman are gone and draft him a round later.
3-5-3 maybe ? I'm wrong ( beach,Mano ) but Troy played that type of defense on and off all year and the Steelers defense was better than it was when he was he played back in coverage.I see what you are saying, and it isn't wrong. There were many times you could call Troy the 5th LB on the field the way he comes up and plays near the LoS. I just don't see them doing something like that with this kid. If anything, if this kid turns out the way they are thinking, it will allow Troy to stay back more and for the team to go back to their base defense more often.
