"In Cleveland there's a lot of conjecture going on about LeBron James returning in the summer of 2014.  Some are calling it "Decision 2" and have started an 18 month countdown.  (He's not going to come back here for mostly the same reasons he left, imo)."

So sad for Cleveland. They can't believe that James simply wanted to go to a better team, so they have resorted to believing that James will always hop teams looking for the next big gig. He is already the star attraction in Miami. Why would he need to leave? Plus, the Lakers are a salary cap disaster, so the odds of fitting him into their roster are virtually nil. They would have to get rid of most of their team and if you think Kobe would change his salary one penny to get James you have lost your mind.

"In any event. the Lakers will have a boatload of cap space free'd up that summer - not unlike what the Heat were able to clear by the summer of 2010 - not only to potentially sign a guy like Lebron to play alongside D-12, but to also sign another A-grade free agent, like a Kevin Love or the like.  The difference is going to be that the Lakers will not have to have colluded with these guys in order to sign them."

Oh, this is cute. You think think Howard is still going to be a Laker in a few years.

"if Lebron fails to consolidate his * title in South Beach this season or next, he is exercising his early termination clause in search of greener pastures, make no mistake about it."

Jefe. They all will. Then Riley will sign James to a max and then decide what to do with all the cap space he will have freed.

You speak with such cetainty, when fact of the matter is, every prediction you have made for 2+ years has been wrong.

How's your most recent 11-5 prediction going?  Nice start vs The Raptors.

"The Lakers make sense "

= HOPE in your mind.  Him staying where he has evolved into the best player in the world makes more sense.  Howard may easily be gone from your team in a few months, and serioulsy, if you truly watch has flawed his game is, there are NUMEROUS players who would be better to try to win rings with then him.

" I see you guys wringing your hands in delight over the Lakers misfortunes...at least insofar as you think you can see them."

You reap what you sew, and if you can't see them, it is because you are weraing those rose colored glasses again.  Look at the standings. The numbers don't lie.

"See, this is what I call "hand-wringing"...personally, I love that you've made a deliberate choice to deflect any concerns that you have in defense of your own team's flaws "

Really?  I said the Heat are hard to watch on most nights.  I predicted the Lakers to beat then the other night. I picked the Thunder to beat them this year.

Then, just when doubt creeps into your mind, they remind you of why they are champions by flying around the court and playing a smothering defense that can't be rivaled by any other team.

The Heat WILL be in the Finals  vs either the Thunder (probably), Spurs or Clippers. NO other team in the West has a chance.

By the way, did you hear the announcers basically taunting Nash's defense while trying to guard Allen?

The Heat added a deadly weapon. A difference maker for the playoffs for 3M/per.

You added a 38 year old PG who although is still 'ok', will at the end of the day be a horrible investment and another reason you will be home for the playoffs.

so they have resorted to believing that James will always hop teams looking for the next big gig.

Well, that's what I think.  It's not like he's the first guy to go where he has the best chance of getting a ring.  Could be Miami, who can tell at this point?  Could be LA, NY, Chicago, Boston...  But it won't be the Cavs, for the same reasons he left Cleveland in the first place.  And just to make it clear, the Cavs fans that I know don't want the quitter back.  Not that it makes any difference what the fans want.

He is already the star attraction in Miami. Why would he need to leave?

On another note,  nice job by Riley signing the Birdman for nothing.

i STILL don't want to see the arrogant, lying jerk in Lakers colors

- I feel the same way about the (unlikely) return to Cleveland.  It's just PR on his part, saying he'd consider it.  I don't know any Cavs fans that are clamoring for the dirtbag, quitter to return.

Right on cue Jefe.  Another bonehead play by Dwightmare.

Serioulsy, you guys suck.

The Wizards have far more quality wins. Really, what's your  claim to fame this season? A Christmas day home win vs NY?

I counter your 1 and done with "home for the playoffs".

CL67 is more concerned with the Heat winning the title than he is with the Lakers winning the title.

Guys let's face it the guy is just a loser. He would rather see the Heat lose the title instead of the Lakers winning the title lol.

Down 19 in Toronto.

Great start to a 1-4 week for the Lakers

Aww turnip give my friend chief a chance. lebron is touted as the bestvplayer in the planet and his Lakers are losing. It must be tough on this poor soul. The clankers his heroine kobina makes I mean he is trying to find some happiness here. He wont come to his senses that we heatvare the champs and we can whenever we desire play championship ball. He is blindly in love w kobella and his 9 of 30 shooting. He thinks howard and nash are elite players in their positions. All he has left is lebron hating. Lol and even that is clearly jealousy as lebron has been making statements with his game while the lady he adores kobella opens his mouth about how good he is when he is not. I hope the fakers dont see this as another moral victory. Our victory simply crushed the fakers morale and exposed the fakers. I love it.

Where is Spin Dr. Jefe.

The BALLS he has to write this while the Lakers were a current 3-7 in their last 10 BEFORE losing to the lowly Raptors.

It's OVER.  100M roster. No playoffs. Lead by Kobe.

Say what you want. Gerry Cooney is  Nostradamus when it comes to the Lakers.

simple jefe is an aspiring chemist. he is wating for things to become soluble, crystallize and gel. but he fails to see the quality of his ingredients.

granddad chiefs is the nonChristmas version of eboneezer scrooge. grouchy and lives only to hate. even if the player he hates has learned to simply let his game speak for themselves. perhaps someday he will look at the past and realize the glory days of the fakers are nothing more than a historical blip. something to discuss over bingo or bridge with his friends.

these two ladies seem to think they run the Heat haters club, lol. even the faker players themselves seem to be disinterested and losing hope... for these two ladies to keep hoping for a hopeless team justifies their heat hating existence... nothing but jealousy. with a feminine touch.

Implying that the Heat colluded means that they committed some of of illegal act or fraud.  What the Heat did was simply talk to a few of the star free agents that were available to see if they could come together on some sort of agreement to play with each other.  I really haven't seen/heard anything different.

Only jealous Lakers fans think it was collusion. How come 99.8% fans of the other 28 teams have no problem with what the heat did?

If only 1 out of 29 fanbase had an issue with what the heat did in 2010? Shouldn't that tell you something?
